Moldovan president says Germany stays reliable friend of Moldova

Chisinau, 22 August /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu on 21 August had a meeting of Federal Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz, on a working visit to Moldova, the presidential press service has reported.
The head of state and the German chancellor, who came to Chisinau at an invitation by the Moldovan president, discussed Moldova’s European integration and Germany’s support in this process. ‘’We are confident that, having such partners as Germany, we will be successful in the achievement of the national goal, the one of preparing Moldova for accession till 2030,’’ Maia Sandu said.
The head of state noted that Germany was the fifth most important commercial partner of Moldova and the seventh biggest investor, contributing to the creation of thousands of jobs all over the country.
„Germany stays a reliable friend of Moldova, backing us in the efforts of improving the living of our citizens. We have a strong support on behalf of the foreign partners; yet, not, it depends on each of us here, at home, to make the steps necessary, in order to become member country of the great European family as soon as possible,’’ President Maia Sandu stressed.
