Moldovan electoral body receives documents on registration of candidate for office of Moldova's president

Chisinau, 26 August /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today received the documents and the subscription lists for the support of the candidate for the office of Moldova’s president, Alexandr Stoianoglo, nominated by the Political Party, Party of Socialists of Moldova.   

According to CEC, the verification of the documents and subscription lists is to be made during seven days, after which the Commission will decide on the candidate‘s registration or non-registration.

Also today, the CEC members received the documents for the registration of another two initiative groups for the backing of candidates for the presidential elections and a request for one participant in the referendum: the initiative group created by citizens for the support of candidate Alexandru Arseni and the initiative group set up citizens for backing candidate Vasile Bolea.      

At the same meeting, the Political Party, Green Ecologist Party, requested its registration as participant in the republican constitutional referendum due on 20 October 2024 with the option ‘’YES.’’   

CEC, on a period of three days after the documents’ reception, will consider their correctness and will decide on the registration or refusing the registration of the initiative groups and of the participant in the referendum.
