Chisinau, 28 August /MOLDPRES/ - The government will not sell the Giurgiulesti State Port. The spokesman for the government, Daniel Voda, has made statements to this effect.
„We explain as clear as possible: two entities of port infrastructure work at Giurgiulesti: the International Free Port from Giurgiulesti (PILG), which belongs to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the State Port owned by the state. There is no discussion on the sale of the state port,’’ Daniel Voda said.
He noted that EBRD, the owner of the company concessionaire of PILG, holds discussions with more potential investors, including of Romania, Turkey, the Netherlands and Denmark. ‘’The agenda of the discussions of Moldova’s Prime Minister Dorin Recean with his counterpart from Romania Marcel Ciolacu contains also subjects on cooperation in the infrastructure fields,’’ Daniel Voda said.
Media from Romania wrote that the government of Romania at a today’s meeting was to discuss a memorandum on the purchasing of the Giurgiulesti Port of Moldova from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
