Moldovan government approves Smart Moldova national programme on country's smart specialization for 2024-2027

Chisinau, 28 August /MOLDPRES/ - The business sector and the fields of research and innovation will cooperate more efficiently, through the national programme of smart specialization of Moldova for the 2024-2027 years, Smart Moldova, approved by the cabinet today, the government’s communication department has reported.
Among the main goals of the programme, there are: development of the innovational entrepreneurship, wide use of innovations for the attenuation of social problems, ensuring a smart, sustainable and inclusive economic growth. Also, emphasis will be put on enhancing the capacities of the human resources involved in research, innovation activities, as well as in the innovational entrepreneurship.
The sectors regarded in particular are: agriculture, information and communication technology, energy, biomedicine and biopharmaceutics. Thus, the niches of smart development deal with the use of advanced biotechnologies in the agriculture, macro/nano-materials and the electronic engineering, alternative energy, personalized medicine, etc.
The estimated cost for the programme’s implementation is of 163 million lei, of which 50 million is to be earmarked from the state budget and 113 million lei will be accessed from external funds – European Commission, World Bank, German Agency for International Cooperation.
