Romania's president to pay visit to Chisinau, on occasion of Romanian Language Day

Chisinau, 30 August /MOLDPRES/ - President of Romania Klaus Werner Iohannis will pay a visit to Moldova on 31 August, on the national holiday of the Romanian Language, the presidential press service has reported.
President Maia Sandu will meet her Romanian counterpart at the Presidency’s headquarters at 11:00 and at 12:05 the two leaders will give a news conference.
Before the event, the officials will sign a joint declaration on the bilateral cooperation for the consolidation of Moldova’s resilience.
„The joint declaration on the bilateral cooperation n for the consolidation of Moldova’s resilience’’ ‘’defines and strengthens the bilateral cooperation for the consolidation and protection of Moldova’s democracy and stability,’’ reads the press release by Romania’s Presidential Administration.
In Chisinau, President Klaus Iohannis will convey a firm message of support and encouraging for the authorities and citizens of Moldova, in the effort of reform, of democratization, of irreversible implementation of the principles of the rule of law state and of securing the European integration path.
The Romanian president will also make a call to all international partners for continuing providing comprehensive, predictable and sustained assistance to Moldova, in all sectors, especially in the context of the aggression war waged by Russia against Ukraine and of all risks which result from this complex security situation.
Subsequently, President Maia Sandu and President Klaus Iohannis will visit together the Alley of Classics from the Stefan cel Mare Public Garden, where they will lay flowers at the bust to poet Mihai Eminescu.
President of Romania Klaus Iohannis will visit Chisinau at an invitation by President Maia Sandu. The visit takes place including in the context that Romania and Moldova mark the Romanian Language Day on 31 August.
