Moldovan education ministry says most schools to start academic years on 2 September

Chisinau, 30 August /MOLDPRES/ - One of the ten schools from Moldova will start the school year on 1 September. The other education institutions are to hold the first class on 2 September, according to the Education and Research Ministry (MEC).
There are 1,201 schools in Moldova, of which 142 will start the education on 1 September, while the other 1,059 ones – on 2 September.
MEC has earlier issued a circular letter, through which the education institutions, following a decision by the Council of Teachers, had the right to decide the time and date of the holding of the festivities dedicated to the beginning of the new school year.
The first class of the 2024-2025 academic year will be titled, Together for Peace, and will be compulsory for all public or private education institutions. The materials were development with the Council of Europe’s support.
