Moldovan foreign affairs minister, Qatari state minister for foreign affairs discuss opportunities of economic cooperation

Chisinau, 2 September /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs Minister Mihai Popsoi and State Minister for Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi have discussed opportunities of deepening the economic and commercial cooperation between Moldova and Qatar, including the attraction of Qatari investments in Moldova’s agro-industrial sector and national infrastructure. The two officials had a meeting in Prague.
According to the Foreign Affairs Ministry, Deputy PM Mihai Popsoi informed the state minister for foreign affairs of the State of Qatar that Moldova was interested in the opening of a direct air route Chisinau-Doha, which would facilitate both the political, economic and the cultural relations between the two regions.
At the same time, the Moldovan diplomacy head welcomed the nomination of the new ambassador of the State of Qatar to Moldova, Turki bin Abdullah Zaid Al-Mahmoud. He reiterated the invitation addressed to Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani to pay a working visit to Moldova.
Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs Minister Mihai Popsoi on 30 August – 1 September participated in the 19th edition of the GLOBSEC Forum, held in Prague under the auspices of President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel.
