Women from Chisinau, Comrat, women refugees of Ukraine to benefit from programme for easier employment

Chisinau, 3 September /MOLDPRES/ - The University Information Centre (CIU) informs about the launch of the CareerUP Empowering Women Programme – an initiative meant to promote the financial independence of women from Moldova and to facilitate the direct connections with potential employers. The programme targets the young women and women with ages between 18 and 40 years, from the Chisinau and Comrat municipalities, as well as women refugees from Ukraine.      

The programme is implemented by the University Information Centre, in partnership with the Public Association, Gagauzia’s Youth, from Comrat, with the financial support of the Canada Fund for Local initiatives (CFLI).   

„CareerUP Empowering Women” has the goal to support women in overcoming the obstacles faced while looking for a job, as well as the understanding the requirements of employment, to create files of applying and manage the emotions at interviews. During six months, about 150 women participants will benefit from trainings aimed at developing soft and hard skills, including the training for interviews and carrying out the professional portfolios,’’ CIU director Angela Muset said.    

To facilitate the integration on the labour market, the women from Comrat who do not speak the Romanian language, as well as the women refugees from Ukraine will additionally benefit from an introductory course of Romanian language.

The intensive training programme, with duration of two weeks, is coordinated by mentors, psychologists and teachers with experience in career management. The mentors will provide personalized guidance, making sure that each woman participant benefits from the support needed to achieve the professional goals.  

„Through participation in the programme, the women develop essential skills in the career management, efficient communication and negotiation, getting in the end a firm education for covering the steps of professional employment, which will enhance their own certainty on their way of getting the financial independence,’’ the organizers said.
