Chisinau, 11 September /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean has given assurances that Moldova’s citizens would not pay higher tariffs for gas and electricity in the current season.
„The electoral campaign has not started as yet, but I see that, just as at order, an attack with fake news started, especially as regards the tariffs for natural gas and electric energy. The government really cannot know what will be on the international market, but I want to assure everybody that the Moldovans will not pay higher tariffs for gas and electricity in this season. I want to ask those who participate in the electoral campaign to focus on development projects and to show rather how they want to develop Moldova, than to promote different fake news,’’ Dorin Recean said in the beginning of the today’s cabinet meeting.
The tariffs for natural gas, electricity and centralized thermal energy were cut in the last months, under decisions by the National Energy Regulatory Agency.
At the same time, the authorities have recently approved a plan of measures for the preparation for the 2024-2025 heating season, which provides for more actions to provide the citizens with energy resources.
