Chisinau, 16 September /MOLDPRES/ - The Cojusna village, central Straseni district, has benefited from investments worth about 5 million lei through the European Village national programme. The money was used for the modernization of the infrastructure and improvement of the public services, bringing benefits to those about 7,000 residents of the village.

One of the projects implemented in Cojusna regarded the arrangement and rehabilitation of the pedestrians’ alley in the Central Park, which was in a lamentable state.

Within the project, the alley was rehabilitated and illuminated. Pavement was set in that space on an area of almost 3,000 square metres; 14 public illumination pillars were set and street furniture was placed. Due to the renovation, all activities, cultural and sports holidays of the village are now held on this alley, placed outside the Community Centre and the Mayoralty.

Another major project was the reconstruction of a crèche group with 20 places in the Floricica kindergarten, attended by 130 children.

At the same time, through the Express European Village National Programme, a multinational sports field was arranged, which includes a basketball and volleyball field, as well as a fitness area.

The overall value of the three projects amounts to about five million lei, of which almost 4.8 million lei was allocated by Moldova’s government through the National Fund for Regional and Local development and about 200,000 lei represents the community’s contribution.
