Electoral body receives last files of candidates for Moldovan president's office, applications on registration as participant in referendum

Chisinau, 20 September /MOLDPRES/ - Today was the last day of reception of the application for the registration of the participants in the republican constitutional referendum and of the candidates for the office of Moldova’s president, due on 20 October 2024.  

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) received the documents and the subscription lists for the support of three candidates for the office of Moldova’s president: Igor Munteanu, nominated by the Coalition for Unity and Well-being Political Party; Natalia Morari, nominated by a group of citizens; Tudor Ulianovschi, nominated by a group of citizens.  

At the same time, during the day, five requests were made at CEC for the registration as participant in the referendum on behalf of the following political formations: WE Political Party, with the option YES; the AT HOME Party of National Reunification Political Party, with the option YES; Political Party, European Social Democratic Party, with the option YES; the VICTORY Political Party, with the option NO; PEOPLE’s WILL Political Party, with the option YES.    

The names of twelve candidates at the most will be put do on the ballot paper at the elections for the office of Moldova’s president. So far, CEC has registered four candidates; another eight files are under examination.   

As for the participants in the referendum, till present, ten subjects have been registered at CEC; another seven files are under examination.
