Head of Moldovan diplomacy attended Summit of Future in New York

Chisinau, Sep 23 /MOLDPRES/- Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi attended the plenary segment of the Summit of the Future on 22 September. The head of Moldovan diplomacy spoke about the consolidation of international peace and security, noting that in order to solve the multiple problems faced by the international community, there must be cooperation and solidarity among states.
The Deputy Prime Minister stressed the importance of digitalization, as well as the involvement of young people both at national and international level. The official also reaffirmed our country's commitment to speed up the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
The event brought together heads of state and government at the UN headquarters in New York to address critical challenges and gaps in global governance. Topics discussed included climate change, energy crises and economic downturns, which together affect international peace, security and sustainable development.
After the debates, UN member states adopted three documents: the Pact for the Future, the Digital Compact and the Declaration on Future Generations.
"The Pact for the Future should serve as a guide for effective multilateral cooperation to facilitate overcoming existing challenges and deliver tangible benefits to citizens around the world," said Popșoi.
The Summit of the Future was held in New York during the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.
