Steps taken by Moldova to take over presidency of Council of Europe's Committee of Ministers discussed in New York

Chisinau, 24 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- Steps taken by the Republic of Moldova to take over the presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe between November 2025 and May 2026 were discussed by the head of Moldovan diplomacy, Mihai Popșoi, during a meeting in New York with new Secretary General of the Council of Europe Alain Berset.
The officials approached the progress made by the Republic of Moldova on carrying out the Action Plan of the Council of Europe in the fields aimed at protecting the rights of children, refugees, combating domestic violence, propaganda and misinformation, corruption and money laundering.
Alain Berset said that the new Action Plan for 2025-2028 will be adopted by the end of this year, ensuring the continuity of the reform and development efforts of the Republic of Moldova.
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi is participating in the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York on September 23-27. During the visit, he will have bilateral meetings with counterparts from various regions of the globe, heads of specialized UN entities, regional organizations and exponents of international non-governmental organizations.
