Moldova's foreign ministry issued travel alert in Middle East region

Chisinau, Sep 24 /MOLDPRES/- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) today urged Moldovan citizens who are in the Republic of Lebanon and the State of Israel to be vigilant in the context of the destabilization of the security situation in the Middle East region and to avoid traveling to these areas.
"The MAE reminds citizens about the existence of travel warnings to the Lebanese Republic and the State of Israel under extremely volatile security conditions and with an increased risk of escalation," the institution said.
At the same time, the MAE advises citizens to follow the instructions of the military and civil authorities; limit travel to the north and south; in case of great necessity not to leave their homes; in case of shooting, to take refuge in special shelters.

In recent days, Israel has launched several air strikes on Hezbollah targets, resulting in the deaths of some 270 people. Several thousand people have also been injured, including leaders of the group.
