Anti-corruption officers raided several locations in Moldovan capital on corruption case

Chisinau, Sep 27 /MOLDPRES/- Today CNA officers carried out several searches in a case of active and passive bribery and smuggling, targeting a construction company, officials of the Chisinau city hall, employees of the National Technical Supervision Inspectorate (INST) and a lawyer.

According to the CNA, the director of a construction company is being investigated for offering illegal payment to Chisinau city hall officials and employees of the INST and the Public Services Agency in exchange for obtaining licenses for the construction of buildings.

Another case is also investigating several episodes of currency smuggling on a particularly large scale, committed by the director of the company.

Since this morning, anti-corruption officers have been conducting criminal investigations at the premises of three economic agents, at the offices, homes and means of transportation of several persons concerned in the case, from where they have seized cell phones and documents relevant to the case.
