Moldovan foreign affairs ministry explains decision to open only two polling stations in Russia for 20 October ballot

Chisinau, 27 September /MOLDPRES/ - The Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) today explained the decision to open only two polling stations in Russia for the republican constitutional referendum and the presidential elections, due on 20 October 2024.
„The Foreign Affairs Ministry took into account the recommendations of the competent institution, which formulated, following a complex risk analysis, a string of compulsory requirements. They cannot be met during the holding of the elections on the Russian territory, except for the headquarters of the Embassy,’’ reads a commentary by MAE.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry today published the list and the addresses of the polling stations due to be opened for the republican constitutional referendum and the presidential elections, due on 20 October 2024. Under the document, in Russia, Moldovans will be able to vote at two polling stations, both placed in Moscow.
According to the authorities, 228 polling stations in all will be opened in 37 countries for the republican constitutional referendum and the presidential elections, due on 20 October 2024.
