Chisinau, Sep 30 /MOLDPRES/- Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) candidate for the presidential elections Maia Sandu held several talks with representatives of Moldovan communities in Padua, Verona and Brescia (Italy) on 29 September. The presidential candidate noted that it is important "not to allow the division of people into those who left and those who stayed at home". "Now, together we have to build European Moldova", Maia Sandu emphasized.
Maia Sandu spoke to citizens about unity, the actions carried out by the government and the future priorities included in the Plan for Moldova.
"I had the joy to be with my fellow countrymen from Padua, with whom I had very warm and emotional talks. I thanked them for being active and for believing in Moldova. We talked about the things we have managed to do and the things we still need to do. We talked about our unity," Maia Sandu said.
"Let's not allow the division of people into those who left and those who stayed at home. Together we are all citizens of our country - together we are developing the economy, together we have freed the country from thieves, together we are promoting Moldova's good name in the world, together we are taking care of our families and localities. And now together we have to build European Moldova", said Maia Sandu.
The presidential candidate also discussed Moldova's European path with Moldovans living in Verona.
"In Verona I met hard-working people, strongly attached to their homeland and determined to achieve a victorious result in the October 20 elections. The road we choose is the road that unites generations, strengthens hopes and eliminates borders. It is the road of European Moldova. We are the generation that has the mission to transform Moldova and make it safe. We have an obligation to leave our children a free, peaceful and developed country," said Maia Sandu.
Maia Sandu discussed the transformation and modernization of the Republic of Moldova, the main points of the electoral program at the meeting with the diaspora in Brescia. PAS presidential candidate visited seven cities in Italy.
"I ended my visit to Italy with such welcoming people in Brescia! We are one country, we are one nation, no matter where we are. So many Moldovans came to the meetings in Italy not just to have campaign discussions with me, but because homesickness is what unites the whole diaspora. Moldovans left in search of a better life. This is what we want to build in Moldova - a good life for all. Together! Now we have a historic chance - to make Moldova, our home, part of the free, European world, where there are no borders and families live together," said Maia Sandu.
Maia Sandu is running for second term as President of the Republic of Moldova. On October 20, Moldova will hold presidential elections and a constitutional referendum on the country's accession to the EU. 11 candidates are running for the presidency.
There will be 60 polling stations in Italy - the largest number of polling stations ever organized abroad.
