Chisinau, 30 September /MOLDPRES/ - The State Chancellery has asked the police to investigate the vandalizing of the Olympic Dream mural painting, the setting without authorization of advertising banners which contain state symbols on this mural painting and to take all legal measures to stop the unlawful acts committed. The State’s Chancellery’s reaction comes, after the Olympic Dream mural painting has been vandalized and an advertising banner was placed on it.

The State Chancellery provided no permissive document for the placement of this banner and the use of state symbol to the advertising agency which placed it.

At the same time, the institution says that the Olympic Dream mural painting must be reconstituted immediately and the banner must be removed.

„On 19 July 2024, the State Chancellery registered a request by an advertising agency for the carrying out of an outdoor campaign of raising the awareness of the public opinion, in order to hold the national referendum for backing Moldova’s accession to the European Union. In the lack of an answer on behalf of the State Chancellery to the company, the lack of an agreement for the concerned request is presumed,’’ reads the press release issued by the State Chancellery.

In late last week, the National Olympic and Sports Committee informed that the Olympic Dream mural painting, dedicated to Moldova’s Olympic Team, had been destroyed. More pictures appeared in the public space, from which one can see how the Olympic Dream mural painting was vandalized, with an advertising banner placed on it.
