People's Republic of China marks National Day today

Chisinau, Oct. 1 /MOLDPRES/- The People's Republic of China celebrates National Day today.


On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the proclamation of the People's Republic of China, the Chinese Embassy in Chisinau organized several events. These included a Moldovan-Chinese economic forum held in Chisinau, an exhibition dedicated to Chinese clothing and the "Rhapsody of the Dragon" concert, which offered Chinese songs to the audience.


The events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the proclamation of the People's Republic of China culminated with an official reception organized at the Palace of the Republic, attended by several guests of honour.


Premier Dorin Recean also attended the ceremony. The official congratulated the Chinese people on National Day and noted the cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the People's Republic of China in many sectors. The prime minister also emphasized that there are opportunities to deepen the relations between the two countries in a number of fields.


Yan Wenbin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Moldova said that the Republic of Moldova and China are friends and partners, and friendship and cooperation have always been the main themes of bilateral relations. "Relations between China and Moldova have a good foundation and broad prospects for cooperation. China is willing to work with Moldova to further strengthen the friendship between the two countries, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in all fields and bring benefits to both countries," the ambassador stressed.


Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and the People's Republic of China were established on January 30, 1992.


The bilateral legal framework includes 61 agreements in areas such as trade and economic cooperation, mutual investment protection, avoidance of double taxation on income and capital taxes, air services, consular, youth, education, tourism, health, culture, consular, youth, education, tourism, health, culture.


According to the National Statistics Bureau of Moldova, in 2023 the export of goods from the Republic of Moldova to the People's Republic of China amounted to 7.87 million US dollars, and the imported goods amounted to 1.01 billion US dollars.


The People's Republic of China was proclaimed on October 1, 1949.
