Moldovan electoral body: Voters urged to check correctness of electoral rolls

Chisinau, Oct 1 /MOLDPRES/- Starting 1 October, voters have the possibility to check online the correctness of the electoral lists and information about the polling station where they will vote in the October 20 elections.

According to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), voters can check the data on the electoral list by visiting https://verifica.cec.md. 

At the same time, as of 1 October, according to the electoral legislation, the voter may apply to the electoral office of the polling station corresponding to his/her domicile or residence to request, on the basis of the necessary documents, inclusion or exclusion from the list, correction of errors made in the data entry about him/herself or other voters.

Changes to the electoral rolls may be requested at least seven days before polling day. The electoral office shall immediately notify the registrars of the local public administration authorities of the requested changes, enclosing the supporting documents. The registrar shall verify the data and, where necessary, make the appropriate entries in the State Register of Voters.

Voters may be entered on only one electoral list and at only one polling station on the basis of documents proving that they are domiciled within the perimeter of the polling station concerned.

Elections for the office of President of the Republic of Moldova will be held on 20 October 2024. On the same day, a republican constitutional referendum will also be held in which citizens will answer the question "Do you agree with amending the Constitution for Moldova's accession to the European Union?".
