Moldovan foreign affairs minister meets Ambassador of France

Chisinau, 1 October /MOLDPRES/ - The subject of Moldova’s European integration way and the consistent support of France to this end has been discussed by Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs Minister Mihai Popsoi and Ambassador of France Dominique Waag, who has recently started her activity in Moldova.
At the meeting, Mihai Popsoi highly appreciated the dynamism and intensity of the Moldovan-French bilateral relations, concretized through multiple bilateral visits, partnerships and projects in strategic sectors of the national economy. In the context, the Moldovan minister emphasized the results of the Ministerial Conference of the Moldova Partnership Platform and a visit to Chisinau by Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Stephane Sejourne.
Also, the two officials discussed Moldova’s European integration way and the consistent support of France to this effect. From the viewpoint of the future actions necessary for Moldova’s accession to EU, the sides highlighted the importance of the intergovernmental conference for the opening of the negotiations on accession from last June.
At the same time, the discussions regarded possibilities of boosting the commercial and economic cooperation and of attracting French investors to Moldova. Other subjects of discussion was the strengthening of the cooperation in establishing partnerships between education institutions, as well as the ‘’combating, with joint efforts, of the misinformation and fake news.’’
At the same time, the two officials exchanged opinions on the regional and international situation and discussed the developments in the two states, including the nomination of the new government in France, the elections and the referendum in Moldova.
