Chisinau, 1 October /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova provides opportunities to investors for the macroeconomic stability, integration into the Singe Euro Payments Area (SEPA) and development of the capital market, thus facilitating the cross-border financial transactions and investments. Governor of the National Bank of Moldova (BNM) Anca Dragu today made statements to this effect. She participated in the NewMoney Talks conference, held in Bucharest, with a speech given online.
The Barometer of Entrepreneurs New Money and INSCOP were officially launched at the event, with a special section dedicated to Moldova.
Governor Anca Dragu highlighted that Moldova’s potential for investors was due to its proximity to the European market, developed commercial relations and macroeconomic stability. At the same time, BNM ‘’supports the development of the capital market, thus facilitating the access to financing and the promotion of the technological innovations in the financial sector, providing innovative financial platforms and a consolidated banking system.’’
Anca Dragu stressed the role of the central bank in the process of Moldova’s preparation for accession to EU, taking into account its competences as to the monetary policy and the financial sector. In this respect, the continuous aligning of the national financial system to the European standards gives investors possibility to develop businesses in Moldova, based on rules similar to the ones from EU, BNM noted.
According to the quoted source, this harmonization to the EU’s legislation will spread on the next period, taking into account that Moldova, which is state candidate for accession to EU, initiated the negotiations on accession in June 2024, and is presently involved in a comprehensive dialogue with the European Commission (screening) on the level of preparation for the accession to EU.
