Chisinau, Oct 1 /MOLDPRES/- Candidate of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) for president of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu discussed on October 1 with residents of the villages of Șolcani and Cureșnita Noua in Soroca district. Maia Sandu stressed that the allocation of 8 billion lei for the implementation of infrastructure projects is one of the objectives of her electoral program.

Maia Sandu spoke to the citizens about the achievements in her first term as president of the country, mentioning the projects implemented through the European Village 2 program.

"We are building all over Moldova, in all localities, including in Șolcani, Soroca. Last year, two sports and playgrounds were completed in Șolcani and Cureșnița Noua. Under the European Village 2 Program, the construction of the aqueduct will be financed in Șolcani. In Soroca district 34 projects have been implemented under the European Village program. 65 km of aqueduct and 70 km of public lighting have been built, seven schools and kindergartens have been renovated, seven cultural houses have been renovated, four playgrounds have been built and the district hospital has been equipped with modern equipment", said Maia Sandu.

"All these figures show that we are modernizing Moldova, locality by locality. One of the objectives of my Plan for Moldova is to allocate 8 billion lei to infrastructure projects, be it water and sewage networks, parks and sports complexes, cultural hostels or stadiums. We are building European Moldova at home", said Maia Sandu.

The candidate noted that in the last four years, it has been possible to restart work on numerous blocked construction sites. At the same time, more than 700 km of roads have been opened.

"Soroca - Otaci road is one such example - a road that has been awaited for decades, which last year underwent repairs and will provide safety and quality for about 10 thousand inhabitants of the villages it passes through. Such examples show that we are doing what we promise and thanks to the rapprochement with the EU, we have more resources to modernize Moldova's infrastructure. My plan for Moldova means that in the next four years we will rehabilitate another 3,000 km of roads, so that all national and regional roads in the country will be in good condition. Moldovans must be able to travel safely on all roads in the country!", emphasized Maia Sandu.

Maia Sandu is running for second term as President of the Republic of Moldova, having been put forward and supported by PAS.

On October 20, Moldova will hold presidential elections and a constitutional referendum on the country's accession to the European Union. 11 candidates have registered in the presidential race. The electoral campaign will end on October 18.
