Moldova receives another 20 school mini-buses on behalf of Romania

Chisinau, 4 October /MOLDPRES/ - A consignment of 20 school mini-buses have been donated by Romania to Moldova. Attending the ceremony on the delivery of the transport means was Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, on an official visit to Chisinau.
„We have another 20 min-busses, which will reach schools of Moldova’s districts, due to the support of Romania’s government. This essential contribution is part of a vast effort to ensure the access of each child to quality education in schools endowed according to the modern standards. We invest together in a string of infrastructure projects – bridges of the future for the citizens of both countries. Romania stays one of the most important allies of ours on the European way and we are happy to see how our relations continue to be strengthened,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said at the ceremony.
„It is about the continuation of a vaster project, from which more schools of Moldova benefited. All children must have equal access to education. The quicker Moldova is developing, the safer Romania is,’’ Romanian PM Marcel Ciolacu said.
The government of Romania committed in a larger and long-lasting effort to back the education of Moldova. Besides the donation of mini-buses for the carriage of children, the Romanian state financed the repair and modernization of hundreds of kindergartens and provided tens of thousands of education scholarships, starting from 1990s. As many as 4,300 scholarships are financed for students from Moldova for the current university year.
Another decision approved at the most recent Romanian government’s meeting was the decision, under which the rehabilitation of a remarkable heritage building, placed on the metropolitan Gavriil-Banulescu Bodoni Street from Chisinau, is financed with over 2.3 million euros.
Also, the Romanian prime minister stressed that Romania would continue carrying out the Agreement of 100 million euros between the governments of Romania and Moldova on the implementation of the programme on technical and financial assistance based on a non-refundable financial assistance. In this way, projects with high impact have received and will receive financing, besides the financing of school mini-buses, which will reach villages and cities of Moldova or the rehabilitation of heritage buildings; projects on local development or strategic investments, such as the enhancement of the capacities of management of public order situations are regarded as well.
