EUROPEAN VILLAGE: Over 700 households from north Moldova settlement to benefit from running water

Chisinau, 8 October /MOLDPRES/ - An aqueduct network with a length of 18.3 km, which supplies over 700 households with running water, has been constructed in the Hasnasenii Mari settlement, northern Drochia district, through the European Village National Programme.
The infrastructure project titled, Construction of water supply network in the Hasnasenii Mari village, also provided for the setting of two water towers with a capacity of 25 cubic metres each, the building of a water treatment station and the rehabilitation of the village’s artesian well. Now, 700 households, with over 1,300 people, five public institutions, among which the gymnasium, with about 100 pupils, the kindergarten, with over 500 children, the family physicians’ centre, the community centre and the mayoralty, all already connected to the aqueduct, as well as seven economic agents, have access to the new water supply network.
The settlement’s mayor, Angela Morosan, says that this project provides an essential service, expected by the residents of Hasnasenii Mari for many years.
The overall cost of the investment is of about 7.365 million lei – financial resources earmarked by the government through the National Fund of Regional and Local Development.
According to the National Office of Regional and Local Development, 791 km of aqueduct networks have been constructed in 116 settlements; over 150,000 citizens benefit from access to the water supply network.
