Moldovan electoral body accredits more international observers for elections' monitoring

Chisinau, 8 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC), at a today’s meeting, accredited more international observers for the monitoring of the presidential elections and the constitutional referendum, due on 20 October 2024.  

Thus, CEC accredited as international observers: 51 people on behalf of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly; 16 people on behalf of the Embassy of the United Kingdom in Moldova and one person on behalf of the Bucharest-based Embassy of Slovenia in Moldova.

Another five people were accredited on behalf of the Embassy of Japan in Moldova; one person on behalf of the Embassy of Croatia in Moldova; one person on behalf of the Republican Electoral Commission of Serbia; two persons on behalf of the Central Elections Commission on Conducting Elections and Referenda of Kyrgyzstan and 13 people on behalf of the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs, Washington, Chisinau-based branch.  

Also, 23 people were confirmed as interpreters on behalf of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights.  

The deadline for the accreditation as observers at the 20 October elections is 13 October 2024.
