First meeting of coordination group for consolidation of commercial routes within Eastern partnership takes place in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 9 October /MOLDPRES/ - More European projects will be implemented in Moldova for the modernization of the infrastructure and development of commercial routes and digital logistic solutions between the Eastern Partnership (EaP) member countries and with the European Union. 

In the context, the meeting coordination meeting with the participation of representatives of the Infrastructure and Regional Development Ministry (MIDR), Economic Development and Digitalization Ministry, Naval Agency, National Motor Transport Agency, Customs Service, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), Embassy of Germany, State Chancellery and the National Agency for Regulation in Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) was held at the MIDR’s headquarters.      

Thus, some of the projects due to be carried out will be focused on: development and enforcement of ecological and digital practices in the transports sector; implementation of the New Computerized Transit System, which will enhance the security of the trade transactions and will improve the cooperation between the customs authorities; digitalization of the transport of goods, which will facilitate the exchange of data between the customs authorities and carriers; implementation of the System of Systematic Exchange of Electronic Data, which will improve the management of the phyto-sanitary, veterinary and pharmaceutical certificates; the creation of Maritime Single Windows and the working out of a new Naval Code;  the cross-border connection of the electronic communications to improve the transfer of data between Moldova and EU.      

„This cooperation will significantly contribute to the  modernization of the transport infrastructure from Moldova, cutting the administrative costs and facilitating the cooperation between the public and private actors for the region’s economic development,’’ the state secretary in the transports sector at MIDR, Mircea Pascaluta said.   

The overall value of the projects is of eight million euros and the financing is provided by the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany.

The event was organized with the support of GIZ. The launch of the project, Consolidation of the sustainable and digital commercial routes and of the logistic concepts between the Eastern Partnership countries and with EU, took place at the headquarters of MIDR in last April.
