Moldovan government proposes Vitalie Micov as chief of National Army General Staff

Chisinau, Oct 9 /MOLDPRES/- Government decided today to submit to Moldovan President the proposal to appoint Vitalie Micov as chief of the National Army General Staff, commander of the National Army.
"Vitalie Micov has the necessary knowledge and experience to plan and implement reforms in the National Army, to transform the defense institution to ensure peace and promote democratic values in our country," Defense Minister Anatolie Nosatii said.
The post of chief of the General Staff was left vacant after the government decided on 18 September to submit a proposal to the President of Moldova to dismiss Eduard Ohladciuc, due to the expiration of his military service contract.
Also today, the government appointed several heads of Territorial Social Assistance Agencies. Thus, Veronica Rusu will head ATAS Center, Marina Croitoru became head of ATAS Center-West, Alina Postolache is the new director of ATAS North, Aliona Perecheatco will head ATAS North-East, Lucia Dioneac - ATAS North-North-West, Emilia Ciobanu - ATAS North-West, Oxana Radu - ATAS South, Victoria Gandrabur - ATAS South-East and Tamara Călugăru - ATAS South-West.
The government also decided to appoint Vadim Smîntînă as deputy head of the National Agency for the Development of Youth Programs and Activities.
At the same time, Andrei Popa has resigned as deputy head of the State Agency for Intellectual Property.
