Chisinau, Oct 9 /MOLDPRES/- About 30,000 pensioners of Moldova will receive a one-off allowance worth 2,300 lei. Prime Minister Dorin Recean made the statement at the beginning of today's cabinet meeting.
"As of 2021 we increased the minimum pension by 143 percent, from 1,143 lei to 2,778 lei. Apparently, it seems to be two and a half times more, but we know that we have to put even more effort to help the elderly. The average pension has almost doubled, from 2,067 lei to 3,926 lei, but we understand we have to work even harder and make an effort. Now we have a special category of pensioners, in particular, who have worked hard, over 40 years, but their pensions are still low. Today we will have a decision that will concern about 30 thousand people to whom we will offer a one-off allowance of 2,300 lei," he said.
On 1 April pensions were indexed by 6%.
