Anticorruption officers collected €36,000 in case on illegal party financing

Chisinau, Oct 9 /MOLDPRES/- National Anti-Corruption Center (CNA) officers have collected 36 thousand euros in the case on illegal financing of a political party by an organized group. The money was found by the law enforcement officers in a means of transportation together with several boxes of electoral leaflets.

According to the CNA, the equivalent of about 700 thousand lei was taken by the CNA from the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

On 7 October, one person was detained by the CNA and prosecutors following raids carried out in Orhei in the locality of Jora de Jos. The actions took place within the framework of a case of illegal financing of a political party by an organized group, and about 1 million lei was seized at the scene.
