One-off allowance of 2,300 lei to be offered to pensioners with more than 40 years of seniority

Chisinau, Oct 9 /MOLDPRES/- The one-time allowance of 2,300 lei, which will be granted by the Government to 31,022 pensioners with more than 40 years of working seniority will be available at post offices in the localities of the beneficiaries starting with the first days of November. Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu made the statement after the Government approved the decision to offer the payment.

Buzu noted that the one-off payment will be offered ex officio, without the need for beneficiaries to go to the National Social Insurance House to submit an application or provide supporting documents.

In order to benefit from the one-off payment, the pensioners will present their identity card at the post office.

The minister pointed out that the initiative is being implemented with the support of the World Food Program, the total amount allocated being over 71 million lei.

Since 2021, the average pension has increased by 90% (from 2,067 lei to 3,926 lei) and the minimum pension has been increased by 143%, from 1,143 lei to 2,778 lei, both of which have increased above the cumulative inflation rate.
