Forty two thousand young people of Moldova to vote for the first time ever at presidential elections, referendum due on 20 October

Chisinau, 9 October /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 42,000 young people of Moldova will vote for the first time ever at the presidential elections and the referendum due on 20 October 2024.
The spokesman for the government, Daniel Voda, has said that, along with other members of the society, they had the power to influence the present and future of Moldova. They have right to made their voice heard and can actively contribute to the changes in the society, Daniel Voda noted.
„For me, the figure of the day is as follows; 42,000 young people will vote at the presidential elections and the referendum due on 20 October for the first time ever. Maybe sometimes it seems that one vote makes no difference, but the truth is that each vote matters at democratic elections. At the last polls, only one third of the young people who had this right participated in the voting and the figures show an interest on behalf of young people to participate in this ballot as well,’’ the spokesman for the government also said.
The young people who are in Moldova will be able to vote based on the identity card and the ones from the Diaspora will be able to vote both with the identity card valid and with the passport of Moldova.
Presidential elections and a republican constitutional referendum on Moldova’s accession to the European Union will take place in Moldova on 20 October.
