Twenty one ethnic, cultural associations of Moldova participate in Municipal Festival of Ethnic Minorities

Chisinau, 12 October /MOLDPRES/ - Eighteen local public ethnic and cultural associations and three republican ones today participate in the 23rd edition of the Municipal Festival of Ethnic Minorities.
The event started at 10:00, with a ceremony of laying flowers at the monument to Ruler Stephen the Great and a parade of the national costume. The event was followed by a visit to the Adorned Room, a symbol of the traditional culture. The Chisinau city’s leadership attended the opening of the festival.
Thus, the Moldovan capital’s visitors today can visit those 15 ethnic yards from the Stefan cel Mare Public Garden. They present the ethnic and cultural specific feature and values, with fairs where workmanship objects are displayed, master-classes in the gastronomic zone, during which skilled cooks show different culinary delights of various ethnic groups.
There are also traditional dances, topic-related exhibitions and possibilities of multi-cultural dialogue and many other inter-cultural bids.
According to the Chisinau city hall, the event’s goal is to turn to good account and perpetuate the traditions of the ethnic communities, as well as develop the inter-cultural dialogue, consolidate the friendship relations between representatives of different ethnic minorities who live in Moldova.
