Moldovan president urges citizens to participate in elections

Chisinau, 13 October /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu has urged the citizens to actively participate in the presidential elections and the constitutional referendum, due on 20 October. In a video posting, Maia Sandu explained to citizens the importance of this ballot for Moldova.   

Maia Sandu said that she was in Hancesti and wanted to remind to the citizens that there were several days left till the elections. ‘’I want to remind you that we have to make quite important choices for us and for the country. There is no runoff at the referendum; therefore, it is important that we go and elect at the first ballot. We should make a good choice for all people of Moldova and be proud with our choice,’’ Maia Sandu noted.      

On 20 October, presidential elections and a constitutional referendum for Moldova’s accession to the European Union will be held in Moldova.

Eleven candidates registered for the race for the Moldovan president’s position. The electoral campaign will end on 18 October.
