Chisinau, 13 October /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today launched this call, after she had had a meeting with 140 young people, with whom she discussed about Moldova’s future.

In a video posting, Maia Sandu reminded to the young people that they can vote in the settlements there they learn, having the identity card of the student or pupil card on them.

„I have an important message for young people. You should know that, on 20 October, you can vote in the settlements where you study, at any polling station, having the student or pupil card. It is quite easy for you to go to vote on 20 October,’’ Maia Sandu said.

The head of state said that over 40,000 young people who turned 18 years would go to vote at this ballot for the first time. ‘’Along with another several hundreds of thousands of young people, their vote can turn the balance. What Moldova will be in future will affect, to a great extent, the young people. We need the help of the young people with the strong voice, in order to persuade everybody to go to vote on 20 October. We should not wake up on Monday with regrets. Especially as the referendum does not have the runoff,’’ Maia Sandu wrote.

On 20 October, presidential elections and a constitutional referendum for Moldova’s accession to the European Union will be held in Moldova.

Eleven candidates registered for the race for the Moldovan president’s position. The electoral campaign will end on 18 October.
