Chisinau, 14 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) will provide the electors due to exercise their right to vote on 20 October transfer pictures with the inscription ‘’I have voted!’’, thus replacing the old stamp put on the identity documents presented by voters. This approach is aimed at promoting the civic involvement of the citizens in the voting process at the republican constitutional referendum and the presidential elections.
According to CEC, the way of giving the people who exercised their right to vote the transfer picture with the mention ‘’I have voted’’ represents a means of thanks addressed to the people present at the elections. Also, CEC considers that the transfer picture held on the chest by the people who voted is a form of encouraging the participation in the voting and has the role to highlight the importance of this democratic exercise.
At the same time, 42,000 young people will have occasion to mark the special moment of the first voting through the reception of a phosphorescent bracelet with the inscription, ‘’My first vote – 20 October 2024.’’ ‘’This bracelet is more than just an accessory. This is a symbol of the commitment and of the civic responsibility. Each bracelet shines as a luminary of the democracy, reminding to the young people that the participation in the vote is an important step in the edification of their future. Thus, this moment becomes a confirmation of the right to be heard and of the power to make a difference in the community,’’ CEC said.
