Fuels getting more expensive by over 0.20 lei per liter

13:35 | 15.10.2024 Category: Economic

Chisinau, Oct 15 /MOLDPRES/- Petrol price will rise by 0.28 lei per liter on October 16, while drivers will pay 0.20 lei more for diesel. The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) explained that the increase has a unique character and is related to the extended break in the program of activity in the context of the Chisinau's holiday.

Thus, if usually Platts quotations for petroleum products influence insignificantly on a one-day level the prices set by ANRE, then the day off on October 14 made the difference between the price set for Wednesday, October 16, compared to the price set as of Saturday, October 12, more pronounced.

"For these reasons, the mechanism of daily approval of fuel prices was implemented in 2021, so that end consumers are not influenced by the level of fluctuations for longer periods," ANRE explained.

At the same time, the institution said that despite the increase to be operated for tomorrow, the current prices are still well below the average level for this year: 24.51 lei / liter for petrol and 21.12 lei / liter for diesel.

Under these circumstances, for tomorrow, ANRE has announced a maximum price for COR 95 petrol of 23.32 lei per liter, up by 0.28 lei. At the same time, diesel will be sold for a maximum of 19.84 lei per liter, up by 0.20 lei.
