Candidate of Action and Solidarity Party for Moldovan president's office unveils advantages of accession to EU for families, elderly people, entrepreneurs

Chisinau, 15 October /MOLDPRES/ - The candidate of the Action and Solidarity party (PAS) for the Moldovan president’s office, Maia Sandu, has unveiled the advantages of Moldova’s accession to the European Union for the young families with children, for young people, for elderly people, as well as for the entrepreneurs. Maia Sandu urged the citizens to go to vote, to vote at the referendum and choose a European Moldova.
Maia Sandu stressed that, in EU, the citizens had a longer life expectancy than in Moldova. ‘’The life expectancy is by ten years longer than in Moldova. In EU, the pensions are higher. In Romania, the pension is twice higher than in Moldova and in Lithuania- three-fold higher. Also, the citizens have access to quality healthcare services, access to running water, sewerage services and other things which make the people’s living easier,’’ the PAS candidate said.
Also, Sandu noted that, for young people, EU means investments in programmes, quality education and many opportunities. ‘’EU means freedom, the freedom to move and choose. For our young people, this means to be able to go to the EU countries not only 90 days, just as it is now, but without limits. EU for young people means investments in programmes of backing young entrepreneurs, investments in the education system, so that we have a chance for a qualitative education. This means opportunities in all spheres, just as the young people presently have in the EU member states,’’ Maia Sandu said.
She stressed that, for the young families with children, EU means opportunities of employment at tome. ‘’The salaries in EU are several times higher than in Moldova. The European Union means more sources, in order to be able to increase the allowances for children, means stability and peace, a very important thing for all our families.’’ Maia Sandu also said.
Also, the PAS candidate said that, for entrepreneurs, EU means a big market – of more than 450 million people. ‘’A market where you can sell the products and services and earn good. EU means stability, investments in research and development, so that our economy becomes more competitive, with funds for development. For instance, Romania has had a net benefit from of 60 billion euros since the moment of accession so far. It is always better for us to decide by ourselves than others decide instead us. At the referendum, we will take a decision which will influence the living of each citizen. Go to vote, vote at the referendum, choose a European Moldova,’’ Maia Sandu said.
On 20 October, presidential elections and a constitutional referendum for Moldova’s accession to the European Union will be held in Moldova. Eleven candidates registered for the race for the Moldovan president’s position. The electoral campaign will end on 18 October.
