Chisinau, 15 October /MOLDPRES/ - The president of the Commission for Foreign Policy of the Romanian Senate, Titus Corlatean, before the referendum, has invited the Moldovans to avoid the propaganda and if they have doubts, to cross the Prut river and see how Romania has developed since its integration into EU. The senator made statements to this effect at a news conference given jointly with the head of the parliament’s commission for foreign policy and European integration, Ina Coseru.

On a visit to Chisinau, the Bucharest official said that Romania knew the attempts of manipulation of the public opinion made in Moldova by the Kremlin’s forces.

„There are political actors from Moldova or affiliated with Moscow who tried to misinform the good-will people from Moldova. The citizens must know the truth; they must know it objectively and those who have not done this as yet – should cross the Prut river! They should see how the today’s Romania looks 17 years following the integration. This is the way to more democracy, to freedom, to prosperity, to living standards which mean salaries, which mean pensions, which mean more comfort for the people of Moldova. The people deserve this, as they are people who have European vocation and beyond manipulations – this is the only solution for a decent and prosperous living,’’ Corlatean said.

He reviewed all processes through which Romania had gone in the last years. ‘’We try to promote a correct, objective informing of the benefits which a society integrating into the European Union has for the people. This is our role, of the political figures.’’ Corlatean also said.

MP Ina Coseru appreciated the support provided by Romania in the last years.

„Romania is the partner No 1 of Moldova. It is important that we emphasize also the projects on inter-connectivity, reconstruction of bridges, roads; it is also about those three high-tension power lines, which will connect us with Europe through Romania. This means a true friendship between Moldova and Romania and we thank our friends, who represent the strongest voice in EU for our European integration way,’’ Coseru said.
