Armwrestling tournament held in Taraclia district of Moldova with ARBOM's support

Chisinau, 16 October /MOLDPRES/ - An armwrestling tournament dedicated to the young people from the Taraclia region was organized at the headquarters Ivan Vazov theoretical lyceum from Taraclia on the eve of the Day of Bessarabian Bulgarians from Moldova. The event will be marked in Moldova on 29 October. The competition was able to be held due to the support provided by the Association for the Development of the Bulgarian Community from Moldova (ARBOM), the Taraclia district council, the Embassy of Bulgaria, as well as of the National Sports Federation of Armwrestling from Moldova.
Forty young people amateurs of this kind of sport from the Taraclia district, populated with ethnic Bulgarians, as well as from Cahul and Chisinau participated in the tournament.
Several girls who participated in the armwrestling competition put to test their force and endurance in the same way as the boys. Alina Caireac from Taraclia proved to be the strongest girl, after she had won at all events.
The event’s organizers appreciated the interest of the young people in this tournament, as well as the promotion of the sound lifestyle in the communities of ethnic Bulgarians and not only.
„There are emotions; there is competition between children, pupils, sportspeople, as well as among the coaches from the lyceums from the community. We are happy that we can promote this kind of sport, as well as everything which deals with the sound lifestyle,’’ the head of the National Sports Federation of Armwrestling from Moldova, Alexandru Grumeza, said.
„This is the first competition of this level. I would like this kind of sport to acquire popularity and continuity in our region. It should have as many admirers as possible and we should have our own champions,’’ the deputy head of the Taraclia district, Andrei Baltacov, said.
„This is a sport which does not propagate the aggressiveness and, at the same time, promotes the discipline, as well as the respect for the opponent. Therefore, I am happy that we can contribute and attract young people to go in for sport,’’ Ambassador of Bulgaria to Moldova Maya Dobreva said.
At the same time, ARBOM director Alexandr Borimecicov said that the Association continued to support the development of sport in the communities of Bulgarians. ‘’I am happy that we were able to provide sport in the organization of a new armwrestling competition, after the one from the last summer in the Stoianovca village. Last year, our team participated in the construction of a football field in the yard of the Olimpii Panov lyceum from the Taraclia city and has recently contributed to the arrangement of a field in the Svetlii village and provided support for a project on construction of another stadium, this time in the Parcani village. Besides, the Association for the Development of the Bulgarian Community from Moldova provided sports equipment to the education institutions of the region, ’’ Alexandr Borimecicov also said.
