Diaspora Relations Office launches DOR de traditii program for first time

Chisinau, Oct 16 /MOLDPRES/- Diaspora Relations Office (BRD) has launched DOR de tradiții program for the first time, a pilot project under the aegis of the Moldovan government. It will give diaspora children the opportunity to explore the winter customs and traditions of our country. The first edition of the winter camp will take place on 23-28 December 2024, bringing together 30 diaspora children.
BRD announced that the program aims to bring diaspora children closer to the authentic values and traditions of our country, strengthening the connection with cultural roots and ensuring the transmission of national heritage from generation to generation.
DOR de Tradiții program was set up in response to the increased interest of diaspora communities in maintaining emotional connection with the Republic of Moldova and preserving national values. Through this project, children and young people of diaspora will have the opportunity to rediscover the essence of the traditions of the country.
Participants in the first edition of the program will explore winter customs and traditions through excursions, educational and interactive activities, together with local craftsmen and people of culture.
The program is open to teenagers aged 12-17 years, who have a basic conversational level of Romanian. Priority will be given to candidates who have not previously participated in other Programs organized by BRD.
