Chisinau, Oct 16 /MOLDPRES/- Over 1,200 families have chosen to replace their old appliances with new, high-performance and energy-efficient ones through the Voucher Program for Household Appliances financed by the government through the National Center for Sustainable Energy. Government spokesperson Daniel Voda unveiled the data today.

Thus, citizens who registered last year on compensatii.gov.md platform and had the extreme energy vulnerability category can receive a voucher worth up to 7,000 lei, but not more than 70 percent of the value of the household appliance. The money can be used to buy large appliances such as refrigerators or washing machines. To get the new tech, citizens will have to give in their old appliances of the same category for recycling.

"The program encourages recipients to hand in old equipment for recycling, ensuring that recoverable materials are reused and e-waste is properly managed. Each beneficiary receives a voucher that can cover up to 70% of the value of the new equipment, depending on the specifications of the chosen product. This opportunity allows households to invest in modern, energy-efficient products while minimizing energy consumption", Daniel Voda said.

To check the availability of vouchers, citizens can visit https://verificarevoucher.cned.gov.md/ro/voucher-status or compensatii.gov.md. Further information on the Voucher Program can be provided at 080055005.

The voucher program was launched on September 30. It is implemented by the CNED, with the support of the Ministry of Energy and financed from the state budget. In the long term, the program will contribute to increasing economic security, optimizing energy consumption and reducing energy poverty by reducing the population's energy bills.
