Chisinau, 16 October /MOLDPRES/ - None mayor from Moldova speaks out against the European integration, against the development and modernization of their own settlements. The conclusion belongs to the spokesman for the government, Daniel Voda, and was made followings meetings of Prime Minister Dorin Recean with hundreds of mayors from all over Moldova.
„Since taking over the mandate, the PM has proved a strong commitment for the citizens, by weekly visiting settlements from all districts of Moldova. Starting from February 2023, when he assumed the mandate and till present, the prime minister has visited 254 settlements from all districts of the country. He conveyed the same message also to the ministers, who make weekly visits to cities and villages of our country, in order to better understand the problems and needs of the local communities,’’ Daniel Voda said after the today’s cabinet meeting.
Voda also said that the visits to the territory facilitated the direct dialogue with local leaders and promoted the government’s action plan, with emphasis on Moldova’s European integration. At each meeting, the benefits of the accession are explained to the local public administration and the misinformation circulating in the public space is combatted.
„It is crucial that the citizens and the local authorities are well-informed, in order to understand the economic and social advantages of the European integration. Besides the open dialogue, we attentively listen to the problems and challenges faced by the settlements; we consult policies and identify concrete solutions. The European Village Programme and other governmental initiatives are enforced, in order to bring real benefits to the local communities,’’ the spokesman for the government said.
Daniel Voda added that „each mayor, no matter the party he is a member of, supports this European integration, recognizing that the prosperity of the settlements depends on Moldova’s integration into the European Union.’’ ‘’This is the reality found out by PM Recean in all settlements visited and the official continues to be with the communities, in order to back their development. At all meetings in which we participated, no matter the political vision of the mayors, none of them declared against the European integration.
