Moldovan Intelligence and Security Service denies fake news appeared in public space, condemns attempts to disparage institution's image

Chisinau, 17 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Intelligence and Security Service (SIS) denies the information appeared in the public space, according to which SIS would have issued an order regarding the national mass media sources and describes it as an attempt to disparage the institution’s image.  

According to the SIS’ press service, the information is not true and the apparent goal of its dissemination is to affect the image and reliability of the institution.  

„The email to which the information was sent is not related to the Service, being invented in order to mislead the journalists. In this respect, we condemn any attempts of disparagement and disapprove the manifestations of the involvement of the Service in disputes with political hidden motives. SIS reaffirms its resolution to maintain the neutrality and equidistance in the daily activity, being focused on the fulfillment of its tasks, which regards exclusively the national security, with the strict observance of the law,’’ reads a press release issued by the institution.  

‘’A so-called order by SIS which envisaged controls at information sources’’ has been recently received by emails of more mass media sources.
