Moldovan electors can ask for voting at place of stay, with mobile ballot box

Chisinau, 19 October /MOLDPRES/ - The citizens can submit applications on voting at the place of stay at the republican constitutional referendum and the elections for the office of Moldovan president, due on 20 October.

Under the electoral legislation, the voter who, for health reasons or other well-grounded reasons, cannot come to the headquarters of the polling station can ask the electoral bureau for the voting by the mobile ballot box. The applications are made in written form starting from two weeks before the election day and till 14:00 of the day before the voting. On the voting day, the applications are approved by the electoral bureau will 14:00 and only upon the presentation of a medical certificate.  

The people who cannot submit the application on the voting at the place of stay by themselves have right to do this through a family member or to ask for the help of a social assistant of the mayoralty for this. If because of a physical deficiency, disease or other well-grounded reasons, the voter cannot personally sign the application on voting at the place of state, he/she can submit the application orally to the headquarters of the polling station. If the application cannot be submitted to the headquarters of the polling station personally in oral form, it can be submitted by phone.     

On the election day, the head of the electoral bureau of the polling station nominates at least two members of the bureau, who go with the mobile ballot box and the materials needed for voting to the place of stay of the voter, for the latter to vote.  

Presidential elections and the republican constitutional referendum will be held in Moldova on 20 October.
