Chisinau, 19 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has made specifications on the participation of students and pupils with right to vote in the elections due on 20 October 2024.
Thus, the students and pupils with right to vote, who have no registration at the domicile or temporary residence in the settlement where they study, can vote at any polling station opened in this settlement. They are obliged to show the identity card and the student/pupil card of the education institution from the concerned settlement. These voters will be registered in the additional electoral list.
At the ballot due on next Sunday, about 42,000 young people will be able to mark the special moment at the first voting through the reception of a phosphorescent bracelet, with the inscription, My First Vote – October 2024.
„This bracelet is more than just an accessory. This is a symbol of the civic commitment and responsibility. Each bracelet shines as a luminary of democracy, reminding the young people that the participation in the voting is an important step in the edification of their future. Thus, this moment becomes an assertion of the right to be heart and of the power to make a difference in the community,’’ CEC said.
The presidential elections will be held on 20 October 2024. On the same day, a republican constitutional referendum will take place, during which the citizens will have to answer the question: ‘’Do you support the amendment of the Constitution for Moldova’s accession to the European Union?’’
