First Moldovan woman to vote in elections, referendum

Chisinau, Oct 20 /MOLDPRES/- The first polling station for today's presidential elections and constitutional referendum organized by the Republic of Moldova was opened in Tokyo, capital of Japan. At the same time, the first Moldovan woman to vote in these elections is Ludmila Vizdoagă, who has been living in the diaspora for 19 years and traveled 1300 km from the Republic of Korea to Japan to exercise her duty as a citizen.
Moldovan citizens who are in Japan, the Republic of Korea or East Asia will be able to exercise their right to vote at the polling station in Tokyo.
The polling station will be open until 21.00 (local time) and is located in the premises of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Japan, Tokyo.
The Republic of Moldova will hold elections on Sunday for the post of head of state and a republican constitutional referendum on the country's accession to the European Union.
