Iasi surgeon awarded honorary title Doctor Honoris Causa of USMF "Nicolae Testemitanu"

Chişinău, October 21 /MOLDPRES/- Cristian Lupașcu, the head of the Surgery Unit of "Gr. T. Popa" University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Iași has got the honorary title Doctor Honoris Causa of "Nicolae Testemițanu" State University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Moldova.
The event for awarding the title was opened by Rector Emil Ceban, who highlighted the biographical path of the renowned professor. "Cristian Lupașcu is a notable personality with undeniable authority and reputation in Romania, the Republic of Moldova and worldwide. USMF "Nicolae Testemițanu" senate has decided to grant him the honorary title of Doctor Honoris Causa as a sign of high appreciation and gratitude for cultivating universal human values, prodigious scientific work, meritorious results in promoting science and medical practice, significant contribution to the development of cooperation relations between USMF "Nicolae Testemițanu" and UMF "Gr. T. Popa", significant contribution to organizing scientific forums and jointly developing scientific projects, assistance in training and improving university scientific and teaching staff and medical personnel for the healthcare system in the Republic of Moldova in surgery and transplantology, as well as promoting USMF "Nicolae Testemițanu" in Romania and other countries," Ceban said.
Lupașcu expressed his honor and emotion for the title conferred by the prestigious USMF "Nicolae Testemițanu," well-known in Romania, with which he is proud to collaborate and share his experience. He delivered a scientific lecture "New Trends in Liver Transplantation," in which he highlighted essential aspects of his profession: the shortage of cadaveric grafts to cover waiting lists, ongoing advancements related to new transplantation indications, and the constant need to improve lifelong immunosuppression.
Attending the event were USMF "Nicolae Testemițanu" Senate members, representatives of surgical departments, students and resident doctors, as well as members of "Nicolae Anestiadi" Surgeons Association of Moldova.
