Over 3,100 families of Moldova receive vouchers worth up to 7,00 lei to buy new fridges, washing machines

Chisinau, 23 October /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 3,116 families of Moldova  have benefited from vouchers worth up to 7,000 lei to buy new and energy efficient household appliances. The support was provided at the first session of the Programme of vouchers financed from the state budget, with the European Union’s support and implemented by the National Centre for Sustainable Energy (CNED) and the Energy Ministry.     

The beneficiaries purchased 1,700 energy efficient fridges and 1,416 energy efficient washing machines.  

The session, held on the period 30 September – 20 October, provided vouchers of 7,000 lei for the consumers of extreme energy vulnerability and 6,000 lei for those with quite high vulnerability.     

To benefit from the new technology, the citizens provided, in exchange, old household appliances from the same category, which are to be recycled.  

The families with many children, people with special needs and the elderly ones had priority at this programme. According to CNED, the households will benefit, following the replacement of old household appliances, from significant savings in invoices for long term.   

CNED informed that it would continue launching new sessions on providing vouchers.  

The programme of vouchers for household appliances was launched on 30 September. It is implemented by CNED, with the support of the Energy Ministry  and with financing from the state budget. On long term, the Programme will help enhance the economic security, optimize the consumption of energy and diminish the energy poverty, through decreasing the expenses for the resident’s invoices.
