Today - last day to submit applications for authorization of opinion polls

Chisinau, Oct 24 /MOLDPRES/- Applications for the authorization of opinion polls conducted in the context of the presidential elections can be submitted to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) until today, October 24. In the case of exit polls, applications must be submitted by October 27 at the latest.

CEC today clarified the deadlines for applying for the authorization of opinion polls on voters' political preferences, exit polls, registration of interviewers, accreditation of observers and confirmation of journalists during the runoff election.

Applications for accreditation of observers can be submitted until October 27 and applications for confirmation of journalists until October 29.

The candidates who received the most votes in the first round of the elections will compete for the post of head of state in the runoff. They are candidate of the Action and Solidarity Party Maia Sandu, who picked up 42.49% - 656,852 votes, and candidate of the Party of Socialists Alexandr Stoianoglo, who got 25.95% - 401,215 votes.
